Today is my giveaway for the 25 Days of Giveaways. Thank you to Tina for this wonderful idea of helping babyloss moms through the holidays. I remembered doing this last year and it was certainly a needed "distraction" during such a difficult time. Our thoughts are never very far away from our babies but at least there was a focus....something to think about and look forward to each day and share with others that are on this journey. I met several BLM friends through this and, as I have already this month, have found new stories and old stories and some of them very similar to what I went through. These friends helped me through tough days and I would do the same with comforting comments or emails, letting them know someone else was walking very close to them on a very similar path. This community is therapy for many of us....therapy we could have paid a professional for, but never received the empathy of "I've been there...so I know how you feel." Thank you to everyone out there who has helped a fellow baby loss mom out with kind and comforting comments, an email, a letter, or whatever form of support you offer.
And on to my giveaway! When Chase died, my sister found this wonderful website and worked with the creator on a custom canvas that perfectly represented our little boy. They spent a lot of time on getting the art just right, the words just right and everything she wanted it to say.....while keeping it a secret from me the entire time! The creator of this website is an artist that loves every piece she creates and does so with a compassion and care that gives the customer the most adorable, special piece of art to display. The balloons on this canvas are the exact colors that we sent off to Chase the day we got home from the hospital, the number of balloons for each person in our family, his stats, the words that we said to him. Everything was perfect--couldn't have been more fitting. She also had a Picture Pal made that matched the canvas! It was very touching and I was very emotional when she gave it to me. Thank you to Therese for all her time in creating the special piece for me and my family!
So this is what I am giving away today......TWO (2) $25 gift certificates to Farmhouse Five for you to choose your special piece(s) for your little one. I promise you will absolutely love her store and find several things to choose from. The quality of work is amazing....just like her talent. Leave me a comment and if you like, tell me what is your most special "thing" that you have made or had made that represents your angel baby. Tonight I will use random.or.g. to choose the winners so check back tomorrow to see if it is you!
Thanks for reading & Happy Holidays to you all!
I would be honored to win such a lovely giveaway! :) I think my favorite thing for Riley & Peyton are the angel plaques I made them - they hang under our engagement/signature frame on our wedding wall which I now call our family wall. I sell the plaques in my store along with other BLM keepsake pieces.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite parts of these giveaways is meeting new blogs...and I don't think I had read your story before. I will now be following.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing such a lovely giveaway. I wasn't able to host this year, so you don't have to enter me, but I just wanted to stop by and send some hugs, from one BLM to another.
This is beautiful! Thank you for having a giveaway! I guess the thing I am proudest of I made for Meredith are her scrapbooks. I didn't have a lot of physical memories of her so I have collected pretty baby embellishments and poems I liked - wrote some myself, and made her some scrapbooks.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have one of these for Vincent! Chase's canvas is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy most special thing for Vincent is a photo slideshow I made that I play from time to time for family. I went through and edited photos and picked the best so the whole family could see how beautiful our little man is.
Also - the Forever Remembered Collage that Jessica made for me is an amazing picture on our wall!
oh, how wonderful! the most special thing i have for xavier is a picture frame that says miracle with his tiny footprints framed in it.
ReplyDeleteAlexander would love something like this (so would his Mommy). Hopefully we win as tomorrow is their (triplets) birthday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for thinking of us.
Wow. Tough question. Truthfully, a friend of mine sent us a care package for Ethan's birthday this year. He would have been two. My husband and I have never seen his name on a birthday card. This friend sent one for Ethan. It was the most amazing feeling to see his name written on a birthday card. To have been acknowledged and remembered in a way that most people can't imagine being so meaningful and important. His birthday card sits on his shelf with his ashes and it makes me smile every morning when I wake up and see it:)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a generous gift! Thank you for the opportunity. Last year, I won a 25 days giveaway from Katy Larsen(http://hannahshonor.blogspot.com/), and it was a memorial box with my sons name on it. She packed it with a little candle and bible. There was also a special plaque with his name on it. It is my most favorite gift. Like Kristy said, when someone acknowledges your baby, it is the most heartwarming thing. :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite "remembrances" of Dylan is a canvas that our NILMDTS photographer had made for us. We had no idea that they were going to do that for us, and he and his wife surprised us with it during our first Christmas without Dylan.
ReplyDeleteIt hangs above our bed, as a constant reminder of our perfect little son!
Kat @ In Dylan's Memory
Oh wow! She has some amazing things in her store!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say that the most precious thing that was made for us are hand and foot castings that a very special nurse made for us and surprised us with after our daughter passed away. I also cherish all the things my girls have made for their sister. I have a beautiful wood box that was made just for her which I put all her creations from them in. I also made suncatchers for Freja's first birthday and it was a very personal and emotional project.
I don't think I've come across your blog before but I'm now following and look forward to getting to know you better.
I would love to win this! I just visited the site and absolutely love the canvases. Good luck to everyone!
ReplyDeleteThis giveaway is amazing! ♥ Thank you so much for the opportunity to win!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is probably the scrapbook I made for Bryston and Colton. It has a little bit of everything in it and usually at night after the girls go to bed I take it out and go through it. It makes me feel close to them. That scrapbook has seen a lot of tears as well.
I had an Etsy jewelry maker put together an owl locket for me. I have the teeniest picture of Stella in it and a small snipping of her hair. The nurses at the NICU snipped a lock of her hair, when we didn't even think of it, and it is something I will always treasure. I love to carry that lasting bit of her with me.
ReplyDeleteIm so sorry for your loss. I love the canvas I would love to have one for our sweet Kael who passed away at 5 months old. So beautiful. Much love this holoday seasn
ReplyDeleteHello my new friend!
ReplyDeleteI have to say the necklace I was given before Amelia was born that bears her name. I have since added a charm with my son's name as well. The charms dangle just above my heart.
<3
hugs! M.
The most special thing I have for Chloe is 2 paintings I did for her room a few weeks before she was born. They were my first ever attempt at painting and I was so excited when they turned out as well as they did.
ReplyDeleteThe things on the site you posted are absolutly adorable. When I clicked on the link the first image that came up was an owl painting with the name "Chloe" on it.
The most special thing I have created is Mikayla's scrapbook. It is 50+ pages and tells every detail of her brief, but still important, life. I know I will treasure it always!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss and am glad I am not the only one still in pain. I lost my baby girl 2 1/2 months ago when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant. I have been working on a scrapbook of her and also I am going to make a patch blanket out of the fabric that she was wrapped in so I have something to cuddle with when I am missing her.
ReplyDeleteThe most special thing we have is a shadow box we had done with the hat my daughter was wearing when she passed away, on the brim of the hat is a triplet pin signifying her short life as a triplet.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog and I am so sorry for the loss of your little Chase.
Wow! I love it... very beautiful and I would be honoured to design one for Nicholas
ReplyDeleteIt is truly beautiful, I can see why you love it. I don't have something created but I love the engraving on my wedding ring with both of my twin girls' names on. It is always with me and keeps them both close to me and together as they should be. I would love this for Ava. Good luck to all. xx
ReplyDeleteThe thing I like the most about these giveaways is coming across stories I haven't read yet. Your giveaway is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome giveaway! The most special thing I made for my daughter Devon was a picture family tree that I designed in Photoshop. It hangs in my living room and it reminds everyone that comes in my home that she is a part of our family.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is really neat! She did a great job on Chase's! Thank you for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI know I am so glad to have met so many wonderful women who know how I feel and are there to love and support me!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic giveaway!! I would love to win one of your gift certificates to have something made for Gracie! I have a sculpture from the Midnight Orange that is quite special with regard to Gracie. A fellow BLM also had a star named for her, and that is quite special to me, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. My most precious item for Bailey is his memory box and everything that I've placed in there in memory of him.

ReplyDeletemy most precious item is a tile i had made with wyatt's stats, his birth picture, and both his hand prints and foot prints. the woman who made this is amazing.
thanks for the opportunity to enter this give away.
Wow! That canvas is beautiful and amazing. What a perfect way to honor your little Chase. I would love one of those for Kennedy, my sweet little girl in Heaven. I think my favorite thing that I have to remember Kennedy is her entire corner in my apartment. I have pictures, candles, pictures, and butterfly statues there to symbolize the beautiful life she had. Thank you for doing this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I hope I'm not too late! Good luck everyone.

I have been reading your blog all day and just now commenting. I am so very sorry for the loss of your precious Chase. You are in my thoughts...
ReplyDeleteCullen is remembered by me in many ways- most precious are the things he touched- his hat, his prints, and of course his ashes.
Much grace to you... Leslie
What a wonderful gift to give! Thank you Christy for hosting today's giveaway!! I have so many precious things for my girls, but I think my most treasured item that I had made is their sketch. I love looking at their perfect little faces. Hope you are feeling well dear friend! xx
ReplyDeleteLove it! Wonderful idea. I guess I would have to say my favorite item is Laken's scrapbook because it has a lot of love and tears put into it. I didn't have a lot to remember her by so I had to create all of her firsts and some. Bless you and your family! Thinking of baby Chase<3
